Hi, I’m Liz and I’m the face behind the cakes at Elizabeth Berry Cake Artistry.
I live by the South coast in Worthing, West Sussex with my husband and two sons, and this is where the business is based.
I’ve loved crafts from a very young age, and I soon found that decorating cakes combined being crafty with delicious cake. Great! After making many many fairy cakes, my real introduction into decorating was from looking through my mum’s St Michael (Marks and Spencer – yes, it was a long time ago!) cake decorating book. I read and re-read it over and over, and started trying my hand at some of the designs. When I was 19 I made my sister’s 3 tier fully royal iced wedding cake, still from the trusty M&S book. I was so proud of that cake, although I have to admit to being a little relieved now that there are no photos of it.
For years I made cakes for family and friends, and then in 2013 I decided to take the plunge and open WickedGood Cakes where I made all sorts of baked goods, from brownies to full blown wedding cakes. I love making novelty cakes and smaller birthday cakes, but my passion lies in wedding cakes, sugar flowers, and more ‘wow’ structure and shaped cakes. In 2021 I decided I wanted to split the wedding cakes away from WickedGood Cakes, so that I could keep the two very different sides of the business separate, and that’s when Elizabeth Berry Cake Artistry was born.
I love to spend my time coming up with new ideas for designs, and I’m equally at home with a classically beautiful floral cake or a more quirky design… such as this beautiful flamingo. I call her Florence. I might be a little crazy about flamingos, they are all over the house!
